JUSA Recreational Soccer

CELEBRATING OUR 50TH YEAR OF YOUTH SOCCER IN 2024. JOIN US!

Recreational soccer is JUSA's largest program, with near 4000 total players in our Spring and Fall seasons.  We are celebrating our 50th year of providing a fun and inclusive, youth soccer program to our North Orange County communities.

All registered players are organized onto a team of all skill levels, in the city that best fits for them.  There are two Recreational seasons; one in Spring and one in the Fall.  Learn more about our programs below!

GENERAL RECREATIONAL INFORMATION

JUSA proudly hosts the largest youth recreational program in Southern California, with nearly 4,000 recreational players in the 2 seasons (Spring/Fall).  Players register and are formed into teams in Anaheim, Placentia, and Yorba Linda.  Unlike some sports which have rigid registration boundaries, soccer allows people to sign up in whichever city is the best "fit" for them.

Recreation means:

Every player in U5-U14 registered by deadline will get on a team.
Every player is guaranteed playing time.
(For ages U5 - U10, every player is guaranteed 3/4 playing time.  For ages U8-U10, every player is guaranteed 3/4 playing time.  For ages U12 through U14, every player is guaranteed 1/2 playing time)
Most games are local.  At the younger ages, teams play within either Anaheim, Placentia, or Yorba Linda.  By U12 & U14, there are not enough teams to keep games in one city, so teams may travel a bit.
Costs are low.  The total cost for insurance, uniforms, pictures, awards, field maintenance, referee fees, team parties, banners, and overhead is hundreds of dollars less than Club programs.
No Paid Trainers.  Recreation teams are coached only by parent volunteers.  (JUSA provides licenses, training and equipment.)

Current Chelsea SC, US Club, Cal South, and Competitive Level Players from any league cannot participate in Rec, Rec Gold, or Select Programs to protect the fairness of competition.

FALL SEASON
Registration runs April -May.
Teams are formed in June and practice begins the 1st of August.
League season games begin the first Saturday after Labor Day.
Players under 8 years old end their season before Thanksgiving.  They do not hold playoffs or All Star games.
Recreational teams from U9 through U14 have playoffs after the league season leading to a "JUSA Cup" winner.  They also participate in All-Stars.  For some teams,  and All-Stars, the Fall Season finishes toward the end of January.

SPRING SEASON
Registration runs mid-November through 12/31.
Teams are formed and practice begins February 1st.
Games play March through mid-May and wrap up before Memorial Day.
